ISCIS is an organisation that was designed to provide information regarding education and its importance in the ever changing socio-economic world we live in. Making the correct decision at every juncture in life is has become even more important than ever with the increase in competition for schools, universities and ultimately jobs.
Parents now look to move home to ensure the apple of their eye attend the school they believe will give the child the greatest advantage and greatest chance to fulfil their potential. Whilst many parents are able to differentiate between money success and actual life fulfilment there is still a desire to see their child succeed in the purely capitalist sense of the word.
Many schools and universities are now catering for a more rounded view of education realising that perhaps after all this time capitalism is an overly simplistic method to gauge success and are spending more time developing the emotional and independent thinking areas of the brain rather than simply teaching Pythagoras’s theorem. This change in mindset will become more important as the world starts to cope with its own inadequacies and society realises that there are events we have yet to see which will change everything.
Education can also include more vocational pursuits and enable a child or young adult to gain a much greater satisfaction from their ultimate job. Before the later end of the twentieth century in the UK apprenticeships used to be one of the most popular after school destinations for school leavers and it is extremely sad to see these professions slowly dwindling and being replaced by an overabundance of students who simply enter university because it is what their career advisor has told them.
